Many people believed that the conquest of Britain was immanent, followed by the invasion of the USA. It had nothing to face the Panzer Divisions, except rifles and hand grenades. And, Germany was getting ready to invade Britain, which had lost all of its heavy arms in France. Facing them was only the battered British Empire and what was left of China. Germany was allied with Italy, Japan, and Russia. Russia had conquered part of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and part of Finland. Germany had conquered Poland, Luxembourg, Holland, Belgium, Norway, and France. Austria and Czechoslovakia had been absorbed by Germany.
